Call into our dedicated student office or complete your application form online.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?
Yes we require three additional documents from each student to support you application form. Those are:
1) ID - we will require one of the following - passport - drivers license (both parts) or birth certificate.
2) Confirmation of your student finance letter, which is required as proof of funds for the rent.
3) And finally we require confirmation of course. Your full time course letter which highlights your student ID number and confirmation that you are a full time student.
WHAT IS A GUARANTOR?
Yes we will require the following from them:
Guarantor is a person who is legally obliged to pay the rent in case the student is unable to. The Guarantor must be over 18 years of age, in full-time employment and be a resident of the UK.
WHAT WILL MY GUARANTOR NEED TO SUPPLY?
Yes we will require the following from them:
1) ID - we will require one of the following - passport - drivers license (both parts) or birth certificate.
2) Confirmation of Address – utility Bill/council tax confirmation
DO I NEED A GUARANTOR?
Yes. For international students who are unable to pay the full contract rent in advance and do not have a UK based guarantor, you may choose ukguarantor.com as your Guarantor.

DO I NEED TO PAY ANYTHING TO RESERVE A ROOM
An initial payment £250 is taken, which constitutes a part-payment of the £500 deposit, and will hold an apartment for you for 48 hours. The remaining £250 is then required within 48 hours of receipt of your booking, and this completes the payment of your deposit. We'll be in touch once the first £250 is made to request the second payment.
I HAVE NOT BEEN ACCEPTED ON MY COURSE YET, WHAT CAN I DO?
Yes, however if this does not follow through you will not receive a refund as per our refund policy terms and you will be liable for the rent until a new tenant is found as per the contract.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

HOW CAN I PAY MY RENT?
You have three different options when deciding how to pay your rent:
Annually where the rent is paid in full and no guarantor is required.
Two instalments where two equal payments are made in June/August and January. You need to have a guarantor to pay by two instalments but it does not have to be UK-based.
Four instalment payments made in June/August, September, January and April. All students need to have a UK-based guarantor to pay by four instalments.
CAN I PAY MONTHLY?
We do understand that some students receive monthly bursary rather than a typical loan, if you are affected by this please contact your local office who will be more than happy to help.
WHAT IF MY LOAN DOESN’T GET PAID ON TIME?
Talk to us! We will always work with you to find the best way for you to pay your rent. However, to be able to provide the high level of service we do, we need and expect our residents to pay the rent on time.
If you choose to pay by instalments and are reliant on a student loan, then you will also have provided a Guarantor. If your student loan is late, we do require you to pay the rent on time and would ask your Guarantor to assist with the rental payment until your loan arrives.

CAN I HAVE FRIENDS STAY OVER IN MY APARTMENT?
Yes, we are happy to allow guests to stay over for a couple of nights but they will need to sign in with a member of staff at reception and guests will not be provided with their own key.
CAN I SHARE MY APARTMENT?
If you wish to share your apartment with a friend then please speak to a member of the team about double occupancy as couples can rent an apartment for a 50% double occupancy supplement on the base rent.
IS A MEMBER OF STAFF ALWAYS AVAILABLE?
Our standard office hours are between 10am – 5pm. Out-of-office hours are also supported by emergency contacts.
DO I BRING MY OWN FURNITURE?
All our apartments come complete with high quality furnishings that provide ample storage and comfort. Because of fire restrictions, you are not allowed to bring your own furniture or large appliances (e.g. fridge, heater, air-conditioner) with you.
DO I NEED CONTENTS INSURANCE?
All our properties come with basic building and furniture insurance, we always recommend that you take out your own contents insurance for your personal possessions.
IS A TV LICENSE INCLUDED?
You are responsible for the purchase of a TV license if you intend to watch or record live terrestrial TV programmes or use BBCiPlayer, even if you have been provided with a TV. If you do not wish to purchase a TV license you will need to complete a TV license exemption form which will be available from your accommodation team.
AM I ALLOWED TO KEEP PETS OR SMOKE IN THE PROPERTY?
As per your tenancy agreement, it is not permitted to smoke inside any Castle Key Student building. There are designated smoking areas at each of the developments which you are welcome to use.

HOW DO I REPORT REPAIRS?
Once you move into the property you will be provided with a dedicated repair contact details to report, emergency, urgent and routine repairs. You can report them to.
AHOW LONG ARE CONTRACTS AND WHAT PERIOD ARE THEY?
Our contracts cover the period of 48-52 weeks depending on the property, they will typically run from mid August to mid June. However, we are flexible and can tailor contract periods to suit individual needs.
CAN I CANCEL MY CONTRACT OR LEAVE EARLY?

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR GETTING MY DEPOSIT BACK?
Once your tenancy expires and you have vacated your apartment, we will physically check it for any damages or missing items. Once we are satisfied about the condition of the apartment, you will normally receive your deposit back within 30 days.
